Black Day Observed Across Pakistan, January 07.

KARACHI: A countrywide ‘black day’ was observed Friday, January 7th on the call of ‘Aafia Movement’ to mobilise the masses and wake up the rulers from a deep slumber to make efforts for the release of the Pakistani scientist from her imprisonment in the US jail.

Protest demos were observed after Friday prayers in different cities of the country,including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Badin, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Rawalpindi,Sargodha, Faisalabad and Multan.

In Karachi, the Aafia Movement organised a big protest demo in front of the Karachi Press Club. Addressing the demo, Aafia’s sister, Dr Fauzia Siddiqui said that the inhuman treatment meted out to Pakistani mother Dr Aafia in violation of all norms of civility and human rights.

Human Rights Network leader Intekhab Alam and Pasban Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor also spoke to the occasion.
